Whether you’re looking for somewhere for a wedding, christening or other family occasion, or even for business or coming to see the great Lancashire countryside, there is going to be something for everyone in this list.

Stanley House Hotel

A stunning hotel and spa venue that is set in its own grounds in Mellor, Blackburn. It does have a modern traditional feel to the hotel and the bedrooms, and their spa is a wonderful place to relax should you want somewhere that is like a country manor.

They have a gym and two restaurants where you can dine in the evening, and a bar lounge that offers afternoon tea and the ability to have pre-dinner drinks with the guests in your party.

Lots of people choose to have their wedding here and you can see why: the grounds are a great backdrop for photos.

The Millstone at Mellor

This hotel is also in the Mellor area of Blackburn.

It’s different to the above in that it isn’t classed as a “hotel” but a pub with rooms. But, they do both things reasonably well.

The building was built in the 17th century, but inside the rooms they have a modern feel and they’re really well decorated.

Lots of people who have stayed here liked the homely feel of the place and the traditional pub menu that was on offer in the restaurant downstairs.

Mytton Fold

Part of the Best Western consortium of hotels this hotel has a very traditional feel to it. Lots of couples choose to marry here because it’s got its own grounds that have a wonderful green colour and glorious colour during the summer.

It’s one place not to be missed off your shortlist if you’re visiting Blackburn and wanting to stay in the Langho area during the summer. It’s one of the more beautiful parts of East Lancashire.

The hotel is dog friendly and welcomes all sorts of guests: weddings, walkers, business conferences, weekend get away couples.

You’ll feel at home here.

Northcote Manor

A slightly higher price than most of the hotels in this list, but one worth noting.

Northcote Manor is the birthplace of the Northcote Group of companies that spans across the red rose county. If you’re looking for a traditional manor house with traditional décor and rooms (creaky floor boards an’ all), then this is the place you’ll want to be.

It’s considered to be a luxury hotel of the North West and has a Michelin star restaurant inside that has many head chefs in the local area envious of Lisa Goodwin-Allen.

The Fernhurst

Fernhurst Lodge is quite central being near Ewood Park (the home of Blackburn Rovers FC) in Blackburn.

It’s on the lower end of the scales in terms of budget than some of the other hotels mentioned here, but it is a pleasant place to stay.

It has just 30 “cosy” rooms, but has 24-hour reception and breakfast served every day of the week, so if you’re not really looking for all the bells and whistles of a place and really want to stay in the local area but don’t want the expenses of a glorious hotel with it.

The rooms are clean and traditional, and the pub downstairs serves a wide range of pub food that is loved by many different customers.

Lots of these hotels believe in health and fitness too, much like your local health consultants in Blackburn: masterspersonaltraining.co.uk/blackburn/ This means some have gyms, some others have a pool too, and others will have a spa also: somewhere to relax after a hard workout.
